COORPI

The collaboration between Lago Film Fest and Turin-based COORPI collective returns this year with the regional première of an anthology of the 7th edition of the national video dance contest La Danza in 1 Minuto (Dance in 1 Minute), and the screening of We no longer wait for the Barbarians by Alain El Sakhawi, Special Award for Production at the 2015 edition of the contest. COORPI is a cultural association founded in 2002 with the aim of developing new ways of communicating with the territory and the community through the plural languages of dance and the body. Since 2011, the collective has been developing projects with a strong multimedia and interactive component, which combine dance, video art and social media, also developing new cross-disciplinary forms of expression.

LA DANZA IN UN MINUTO

La danza in 1 minuto (Dance in 1 Minute) is a video dance contest and an opportunity to represent the diverse meanings dance can take on, in the broadest sense of the word and in different contexts, through a 60-second video clip. This time limit reflects the average contemporary lifestyle and, at the same time, forces authors to truly reflect on the necessity of dance and the urgency of its meaning.

[SET.mefree] is a nomadic screendance micro-festival curated by the cultural association VeNe (co-directed by Elisa Dal Corso and Elisa Frasson) and the international collective futuremellon/not yet art (founded in 2011 between dance artist-researcher Ariadne Mikou and independent arts & culture producer Andrea Bonadio). Keeping in mind the slippery definitions of dance, choreography, screen and their expanding and transgressed borders, VeNe and futuremellon/not yet art are interested in the multiple manifestations of the hybrid audio-visual and spatiotemporal form of screendance; Lago Film Fest will feature a selection of works of their curation.
