The communication
campaign

The communication campagin

Ten years ago, in my curious and confused 18 years, I volunteered at the Festival, specifically placing paper bags, lighting candles inside them; one after the other, they would indicate the paths among the various screens, but much more than this, they were part of the atmosphere that transformed the small hamlet of Lago into a creative hub, a magnet for talents.

Although the candles are no longer there today, the strength of the festival is constantly present in the same values that, over the years, have remained unchanged.

When I was asked to devise the communication campaign for the twentieth edition, I had confirmation of what the festival does best:

giving voice to the talent of young people

in every artistic field.

At twenty years old, with the same determination, I asked myself: what can and must we still say about the Lago Film Fest? What does the Festival need to shine even brighter on the international stage?

The answer is clear: we must speak louder and speak to more people.

We need striking images and resonant voices, conveying the same values that fueled my growth and that of countless other artists who have passed through this magical place.

To do this, I sought a voice that I found in Romana Maggiora Vergano, an Italian actress who, in her twenty years and with a beautiful debut in the world of cinema, believed in the project, allowing for the new symbolic narrative of the festival.

From here comes the epiphany. An image in the mind where the territory of the festival reigns supreme, and amidst the lake and the mountains, a figure stands, looking us in the eyes, pointing with a golden finger to the exact epicenter, where all attention should converge.

Then the chaos. The encounter between the audience and the screen; a thin veil that makes the image tangible to the viewers’ eyes, but never so concrete as to be truly touched.

We marvel at this limitation, and the simple projection screen becomes the bridge between those who create cinema and those who admire it.

The enchantment is complete with the re-enchantment. The return to the values, to the passion that the festival has always had in supporting talent, the new, the young. An immersion that acoustically merges with the water of the lake, where hands are open, near the ears, listening outward, focused in the direction towards which the cinema of the future is moving.

I’m excited about what awaits us in the twentieth edition of the Lago Film Fest.

We are ready to speak louder and to share our passion for cinema and art with all the people listening.”
