He was Federico Fellini’s friend and collaborator since his graduation at the University of Bologna, when he presented a thesis on Fellini’s work. He was the curator of various books on Fellini’s artistic production: “Amarcord”, “Casanova”, “E la nave va”, “Ginger e Fred”, “Block notes di un regista”; and also of two photographic books “La Dolce Vita” e “Un regista a Cinecitta”. In 1987 he signed the script for “Intervista”, Special Jury Prize at Cannes and First Prize at Moscow Film Festival. Between 1997 and 2000 he headed up the “Federico Fellini Foundation” Association in Rimini. As a writer he published “L’amore in corpo” (Sperling & Kupfer), “Federico F.” (Avagliano Editore), “Tra un anno al Caffe della Plaka” (Abramo Editore), “Segreti e Bugie di Federico Fellini” (Pellegrini Editore), “Giulietta Masina attrice e sposa di Federico Fellini” (Edizioni Sabinae).
