Mirco Melanco (1959) teaches Cinema, Photography and Television. He teaches “Documentary film studies” at DAMS (Faculty of the Performing Arts) and “Screenwriting: History and Theory” at the postgraduate course in Performing arts and multimedia productions. Since 1992 he is also in charge of the “Word processing workshop”, nowadays pertaining to the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua. He is an essayist of cinema history and criticism, but he also wrote four monographs and more than fifty essays on books and magazines, international too. He also directed various documentaries (his last one, “La montagna infranta” of 2013 won a prize at the Timelinefilmfest of Carate Brianza), video essays and video installations. He collaborates with television and radio programs that talk about cinema.
